Where to drop off yard waste and brush
Composting facilities and municipal yard-waste sites take leaves, grass and brush, often free for residents. Branch size limits are common, and treated or painted wood is never allowed.
How to do it
- Check your municipality's yard-waste site first. Many are free for residents with proof of address.
- Cut branches to the length the site allows.
- Remove bags if the site requires loose material or paper bags only.
What to avoid
- Don't include treated wood, rocks, trash or plastic bags.
